Future Lab
Technology, Innovation and Pathways for School Leavers
Future Lab is an innovative transition program designed for young people with disability moving from school into adult life.
This future-focused program combines technology, creativity and practical learning to help participants explore pathways to employment, further education and greater independence.
Participants engage in project-based learning using modern technologies such as:
- Robotics and automation
- 3D printing and design
- Digital creativity
- Technology-based problem solving
- Collaborative projects
Future Lab provides structure, purpose and opportunity during an important stage of life while supporting participants to build the skills needed for the future.
When: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00am – 3:00pm
Mix It Up Mondays
Life Skills, Community Connection and Independence
Mix It Up Mondays focuses on practical daily living skills and community participation through real-world experiences.
Participants learn by doing, developing confidence in everyday situations while building the skills needed for greater independence.
Activities may include:
- Cooking and meal preparation
- Grocery shopping and budgeting
- Money handling and financial literacy
- Customer service and communication
- Photography and creative projects
- Community access and participation
When: Mondays, 9:00am – 3:00pm
Perform to Work
Building Employment Skills Through Performing Arts
Perform to Work is a unique program that uses drama, performance and creative expression to help participants develop workplace readiness skills.
Using a strengths-based approach, participants build confidence, improve communication and practice real-world workplace interactions in a safe and supportive environment.
Program activities include:
- Drama and role play
- Mock interviews
- Workplace scenarios
- Communication workshops
- Team-building activities
- Public speaking and presentations
- Performance showcases
Perform to Work creates practical pathways toward employment, volunteering and greater community participation while allowing participants to discover their strengths through creativity.
When: Thursdays, 9:00am – 3:00pm
Optional: Additional Saturday opportunities throughout the year.
CreateA Arts Programs
Drama. Performance. Creativity.
CreateA’s established arts and drama programs continue to provide opportunities for participants to express themselves, develop creative skills and collaborate with others in an inclusive artistic environment.
Working alongside professional artists, facilitators and peers, participants explore:
- Drama and theatre
- Performance creation
- Visual arts
- Music and sound
- Digital media
- Creative storytelling
Participants are encouraged to develop their artistic voice while building confidence, friendships and community connections.
Regular projects, performances and community showcases allow participants to share their work and celebrate their achievements.
When: Wednesdays and Saturdays.
